Empix Imaging specializes in scientific, medical, laboratory, and biotechnology microscopy applications.  Empix has years of experience combining motorized microscopes, computer hardware and software, high resolution cameras, and filter wheels.  HTS uses Empix's expertise in these areas to evaluate and specify components for a customer's application and then HTS integrates Empix's microscopy systems into the customer's process or laboratory.  This often requires the integration of other equipment such as robots for sample handling, reading and writing databases, networking, integration with other computers, information systems (report generation), control and monitoring of other devices, data collection, mechanical design, etc.  

Empix Imaging has spent over ten years developing a product called Northern Eclipse.  Northern Eclipse provides a wide range of image analysis functionality including morphometry, densitiometry, Image processing, CCD camera control, Boolean Math, Image filtering, Animation, 3D reconstruction, device control, fluorescent overlays, image histograms, DDE, Equalization, image editing, definable look up tables, calibration, memorized last operation, 3D profiles, live or frozen image in a Window, zooming, color correction, line or curve drawing, objection selection, input conditioning, thresholding, sequential image saving, object count, averaging, macro programming, ratioing, configurable icons, user defined morphometry equations, gray level calibration, status information, binning, measurement selections, image alignment, angle measurements, image montage, OLE automation, Windows scripting, macros and customer application plug in modules.

Northern Eclipse will work with digital sources (digital cameras or twain devices), process and enhance monochrome video images in real time, and work with either color (RGB) or monochrome analog video sources.
